Madden Peak is one of my favorite campgrounds! Tons of large and level spots, on the side of the mountain, with birds singing and wonderful weather. The sunsets here are amazing!
Cherry Creek is a forest access road that is just west of Durango. There are tons of trails in the area for hiking, quads, or horses and there is a creek to one side.
Mountainous BLM camping just outside of Kingman. This area has tons of trails for biking and hiking, with awesome views of Kingman.
Durfield BLM is a small but very nice campsite in Bayfield, about 12 miles outside of Durango, Colorado. The road in is dirt, in good condition. There are 3-5 campsites here, and the max rig size is 35ft. Cell service was great on Tmobile and ATT, no Sprint at all, Verizon was spotty. DO NOT TAKE THE ROAD TO THE LEFT IN AN RV, THERE IS A GATE WITH NO TURN AROUND!!!
Old Kingman Highway is open desert BLM camping outside of Bullhead City. This is an old road that used to go to Kingman that is now BLM available for camping. The road is rather rutted, but passable by even a large rv. There are a bunch of spots on either side of the road. Typical desert weather, very dry and somewhat windy.
